Symbolic capital

Symbolic capital is a bracket term for ‘worth’ through status. Symbolic capital is varied and seen in different ways by different people. It can be intelligence, looks, possessions (such and such has the latest iphone or car), skill, clothing and so on. Max Weber believed that for the most part individuals are in a constant search for more (similarly to economic capital), and as such it is a means by which we as society class each other.
